Clayton Brown, one of the directors of the MCUK (Miss Caribbean UK) gave his reasons on why MCUK was established:
“We want to use this pageant to INSPIRE, to INFORM, to UNITE and to raise awareness of issues relating to Caribbean peoples in the Caribbean and the diaspora.
We want to use the pageant to inspire by example those who feel disadvantaged and to empower them by showing what you can do with the right attitude.
We want to use the pageant to inform the audience about issues that are affecting men and women in the Caribbean and the diaspora.
Finally, we want to use the pageant as a vehicle for the peoples of the Caribbean and the diaspora to unite around a common purpose, which will be to choose their Queen to represent them to the World. However, we want to bring this message with verve, style and panache”.
Panache Occasions and Heaven Sent Consultancy have provided a platform for the winners of all the UK’s Caribbean beauty pageants to demonstrate and display their beauty and intellect to the Caribbean community as a whole.
