Bringing Sunshine to October

Bringing The Sunshine 2014

Bringing Sunshine to October film series for Black History Month

Filmmakers Charysse Tia Harper and Keith Musaman Morton host “Bringing Sunshine to October”: a series of film screenings taking place in and around London during Black History Month. All films are free and open to the public.

The films that are being screened have been directed, produced and written by the duo:
12 Months (64 minutes) is a documentary about a Los Angeles man (Tony) who rented his home for the entire year of 2013 for $1 per month to help a family in transitional housing. The story follows Felicia Dukes and her four children as they are in Tony’s home, as well as explores the impact that generosity has on the community.

Panomundo (40 minutes) – a preview of a documentary about the history of the steelpan (from its inception in Trinidad & Tobago) and its influence in six different countries: United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Switzerland, Japan and Nigeria.

The Other Side of Carnival (45-minutes) award-winning documentary that explores Carnival’s social and economic impact on Trinidad & Tobago.
