About the Author
Jade Small lives in London with her two children, Zizwe and Zak, and has been writing stories and poetry since she was a child. She works as a Speech and Language Therapist in a High School in Surrey. In the Land of the Shak Shak Tree is her first published story. Rachel Parker was born in Barbados and has been drawing and painting as long as she can remember. After studying fine art at the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto, Canada, she returned to Barbados, eventually becoming the creative director of a local advertising agency. She is very happy to be able to return to her first love in the form of illustrating children’s books.
