Nevis Travel Guide
Nevis, just a short ferry ride from St Kitts, a tiny island dwarfed by the 3300 foot high extinct volcano with tropical rain forests and white and golden sand beaches that stretch for miles.
High season in Nevis is from December to April when the weather is the best. There are no all inclusive hotels on the island but a great selection of plantation resorts boutique hotels and guesthouses to choose from.
Hike to the top of Mt. Nevis peak, take a stroll along Pinney’s Beach home to the Four Season’s Resort, or head to Oualie Beach for activities including windsurfing, diving, snorkeling and boat trips. The windward side has an amazing and mostly deserted beach popular with body surfers.
Whilst the island is ideal for eco tourists, with the Botanical Garden with cascading pools and examples of tropical plants from all over the world, there is fun for the kids, with Caribbean Cove, a theme park with miniature golf complete with pirate ships, real smoke and jungle waterfalls. Other activities available are tennis, golf (at the Four Seasons) horse riding, and water sports.
