About The Grenada Voluntary Hospital Committee
The Grenada Voluntary Hospital Committee (GVHC) was formed by three Grenadian nurses in 1967. It is a registered charity and is one of the oldest Grenada-focused voluntary groups in Britain. Grenada’s serving High Commissioner to London has traditionally been its Patron.
The objectives of the Grenada Voluntary Hospital Committee (GVHC) are:
(a) The relief of sickness in the state of Grenada, Carriacou and Petit Martinique, supporting the charitable work of hospitals and other similar institutions, by financial and material contributions
(b) The relief of sickness in the Caribbean territories in such ways as the Executive Committee may from time to time decide and the rendering of relief to persons who are in circumstances of need, hardship and distress.
(c) To raise the awareness of health issues amongst the African/Caribbean community.
