Dis Shoodbe on TV is a brand new comedy sketch show destined for a TV screen near you! Featuring some of the best comedic and acting talent around, the show introduces a whole host of comedy characters who’ll leave you in stitches. You’ll meet our doctor, who will put you to sleep if you annoy him and threatens to kill as prescription for the hard of hearing! We have a cure for the nagging wife and a remedy for lazy husband’s Dis Shoodbe on TV premiered at the Hackney Empire in August last year and took audiences by storm! The show made such an impression that negotiations are currently under way to make it into a TV series with television execs describing it as a ‘comedic tour de force that so Shoodbe on TV’.
The cast features comedian Eddie Kadi, who just recently had a sell out show at the 2000 seat O2 Indigo, actor / (Holby Blue, Doctors & The Bill and ‘Othello’ at the Lyric Theatre, ); top comedian and choice fm radio presenter Wayne ‘Dibbi’ Rollins, double award-winning comedienne Glenda Jaxson, Brummie comedienne Annette Fagon (seen recently on TV fronting the latest ‘Churchill’ advert) actor; Sheri-Ann Davis (C4’s film Spoilt and ‘In The Red and Brown Water ,Young Vic, London) 2008); Nicole Davies (BBC1’s Moses Jones ) the young Nigerian comedian/actor Babatunde (ITV’s Law & Order) currently taking the comedy circuit by storm with his dynamic stand-up routine, and fresh from a national tour the irrepressible George Eggay (‘Gospel on Broadway’ & ‘from Hymns to Hip Hop’)…….
Dis Shoodbe on TV will be touring nationally and opens at The Drum in Birmingham Fri 27 Mar – Sun 29 Mar before moving to the capital playing Broadway Theatre, Catford Fri 17 -19 April and the Hackney Empire Thurs 14 – Sun 17 May The show is the brainchild of writer/director, Richard Nyeila, who was one of the original script editors for BBC’s hit show the ‘Real McCoy’ ……last year he directed the smash hit gospel musical ‘from Hymns to Hip Hop’ and penned the critically acclaimed ‘Celia’ that played with an all star cast, in the west ends New Players Theatre…….The abundance of talent associated with ‘Dis Shoodbe on TV’ has created quite a buzz, and the show has delivered on its promise to be a runaway success!
