Vive Le Jazz – St Lucia Jazz gets Brand New Souvenir
The newly revamped and redesigned St Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival has gotten a further boost with the introduction of a brand new St Lucia Jazz souvenir for the first time ever.
The finely crafted, 11.7 centimetre portable figurine is dubbed ‘Vive Le Jazz.’ It depicts a 7-member jazz band in concert, performing away at a St Lucia Jazz event. They include a drummer, a stand-up base player, a saxophonist, a guitarist and pianist, and two female singers, one playing a tambourine. The souvenir is the creation of Saint Lucians Bernard, Lyndell and Loren Black founders of the regional consulting firm Cerulean Inc.
The Vive Le Jazz figurine’s size makes it ideal for use as a desktop or mantle piece ornament. Explaining the concept behind its, Lyndell Black said, “The band is displayed as performing in an open-air setting on a cobblestone street, which is synonymous which St. Lucia’s French Creole heritage. This performance is happening whilst curious neighbours look on thereby giving life to an unseen audience.”
The Vive Le Jazz memorabilia will be unveiled at the Pigeon Island National Park main stage events on Saturday and Sunday May 11th – 12th and will be available for purchase. Anyone who purchases a Vive Le Jazz piece will automatically get a chance to win a Samsung Galaxy 2 Tab. Dazzle Magazine is collaborating with Cerulean Inc to help promote the memorabilia and it has also negotiated a 5% discount for its subscribers who buy the piece.
“We all have memories of past vacations, events attended and travel experiences, whether it be through wonderful thoughts, photography or memorabilia” said Lyndell Black. “No matter how much our memories linger, it is always good to bring a piece of your trip back home. With the endorsement and support of the St Lucia Tourist Board, Cerulean Inc. has taken the challenge of creating an artistic piece that will generate lasting memories for St Lucia Jazz fans, which they will no doubt cherish.”
Director of the St Lucia Tourist Board, Louis Lewis said, “The St Lucia Tourist Board is delighted and extremely proud to be partnering with Cerulean Inc for the development of Vive Le Jazz memorabilia. These are pieces of incredible artistic beauty and quite fascinating. They capture the spirit of joy and merriment that always accompanies St Lucia Jazz events. The fact that the souvenir is being introduced on the 21st anniversary of St Lucia Jazz and during a period of rebirth for the festival is also a plus.”
