Uptown Rockers Reggae Film Festival at Regent Street Cinema

FLIPSIDE LONDON TOURS (www.flipsidelondontours.com/), MUSICFILMNETWORK (www.musicfilmnetwork.co.uk) and REGENT STREET CINEMA are delighted to announce the UPTOWN ROCKERS REGGAE FILM FESTIVAL taking place at the iconic Regent Street Cinema on the weekend of Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th September 2016.

The UPTOWN ROCKERS REGGAE FILM FESTIVAL brings some of the most iconic Jamaican and British feature films to the big screen alongside some great documentaries highlighting the birth of reggae in Britain and the career of legendary producer Bunny ‘Striker’ Lee.

Saturday 17th will see a focus on Jamaica headlined by a rare cinema screening of the legendary ‘The Harder They Come’ and Sunday will focus on Britain headlined by the 1980 classic ‘Babylon and featuring a rare screening of Horace Ove’s 1971 ‘Reggae’.

Notting Hill’s fabulous Dub Vendor will be providing sounds and djing at the cinema all weekend too.

Screenings will be accompanied by Q&As from some of the key players involved – the legendary Wilf Walker, Notting Hill Carnival Committee Member and booker at the Acklam Hall with Pressure and star of Babylon, Trevor Laird – with more to be announced.

7.00 pm: Rockers (Feature/100 mins)
9.00 pm: The Harder They Come (Feature/103 mins)

SUNDAY 18TH SEPTEMBER
3.30 pm: Reggae In A Babylon (Documentary/48 mins) + Reggae (Documentary/60 mins)
5.30 pm: Pressure (Feature/120 mins) + Wilf Walker Q&A
8.30 pm: Babylon (Feature/94 mins) + Trevor Laird Q&A
