Ladera Resort Named One of the Best Hotels in the World
Travel and Leisure magazine has named St. Lucia’s Ladera Resort as one of the best luxury resorts in the world and no. 5 in the Caribbean on its ‘World’s Best Awards 2015’. The magazine listed Ladera as one of two hotels in St. Lucia to make the prestigious list.
Aside from the location on the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Pitons, the authentic Caribbean cuisine and the signature house crafted rum; some of the factors that make the resort unique, Ladera’s largely St. Lucian team contributed to the resort’s leap of nearly 10 places from last year’s position.
“Ladera continues to evolve as one of the top luxury resorts in the Caribbean and the first experiential resort in St. Lucia,” says Olivier Bottois, Vice President of Operations. “We are sincerely moved to have received this level of recognition from our guests and Travel and Leisure’s readers. This is a reflection that the best service starts with the dedication and outstanding personalities of our long standing employees. This would not have been possible without the passion, contagious excitement and excellence of each and every member of our team.”
Since Bottois’ arrival, Ladera launched its ultra-luxury villas at Paradise Ridge and introduced butler service, an innovative artists in residence program, and also established as the only resort in the world, marketing its own line of furniture “made on site” to honeymooners.
About Ladera Resort
Ladera, located 1,100 feet above the Caribbean Sea directly between the Piton Mountains, was once one of Soufrière’s oldest and most famous cocoa plantations and transformed in 1982 into the unique resort it is today.
Taking full advantage of its natural surroundings, Ladera offers a distinctive design in guest accommodations with its “open wall” concept. The west side of all 37 suites and villas is left open to expose the breathtaking views while maintaining complete privacy. The suites are constructed of tropical hardwoods, stone and tile, furnished with 19th century French furniture or replicas, wicker and accessories crafted by local artisans.
Ladera also offers a “platinum-level” experience with the addition of Paradise Ridge, a new collection of four suites and one villa blended into the northern edge of the property. All units are decorated with local artwork and feature magnificent views of the Piton Mountains and Caribbean Sea
