The Ferdinand and Baptiste family of Andrew Morgan Baptiste would like to invite you to celebrate his life.
Morgan has worked with many mas bands and I am sure our sense of loss is being experienced by all.
Andrew Morgan Peter Baptiste – Son, Brother, Uncle, Friend, Artist, Actor, Sculptor, Teacher, Mentor, Drummer and Percussionist. The son of Vernon Morgan Ferdinand and Ms Gertrude Peter
Born in St Lucia, Morgan spent his formative years in Trinidad and Tobago, where he developed himself as an artist both main stream and carnival. In Trinidad he worked relentlessly as an artist producing paintings, sculptures, and leathercraft. He was very active in the theatre providing musical accompaniment via his percussion skills. Later he extended his creative skills into the realm of Carnival Arts where he aligned himself to the Callaloo Company led by Peter Minshall.
He migrated to England as a working artist and managed to gain various accreditation in his various interests, while at the same time he had established himself as a successful sculptor and artist in London, by having his works exhibited on a regular basis, consistently working in schools, consulting on projects with various organisations in the carnival genre.
The Nine Night Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday 1st January 2011 from 6pm till midnight
In the usual Yaa tradition, please bring something to share with others, as any contribution will be welcome.
