Miss Trinidad and Tobago UK pageant launch 2005
Carivog International Presents Miss Trinidad & Tobago UK 2005 Launch Party Under the Patronage of the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago High Commissioner Her Excellency Mrs Glenda Morean Phillips.
Miss Trinidad and Tobago UK pageant launch came alive on Saturday 18th June 2005. As you enter BAR 38 nightclub you can see the beautiful Carnival Costumes sponsored by Poison UK one of Londonís leading mas band production and our national instrument the steel pan playing in the background.

The atmosphere was lively and friendly as everyone looked forward to the evening proceedings. As you looked in the crowd you can see many sponsors, committee members, new comers, fans, family & friends of the contestants and loyal Trinbagonians supporters.
The cultural evening began at 8:00pm with the national anthem being played. As the guest arrived they were ushered to there seats and they received rum punch sponsored by Angostura (Royal Oak & Old Oak Rum). Entertaining music by 2810 sound system and BBC I extra DJ Slic demonstrated the sounds of soca and calypso coming out of the island.
Ms. Janine La Rosa a former contestant of last yearís pageant added a beautiful flavour and she was the MC for the evening. Ms. La Rosa educated the audience, which were a mix of Trinidadians, Tobagonians, Caribbean people, UK nationals, African nationals and others. They were taken on a journey about our culture and history and the music complimented that.
The moment arrived when the delegates were introduced on stage ñ all dressed elegantly in red evening wear. All fourteen ladies highlighted in there speech the area they are representing in Trinidad. All contestants received loud cheers from the audience as demonstrated the quality and sophistication of the young ladies in the Miss Trinidad and Tobago UK Pageant. The choreography of the girls were done by none other than the most talent and creative Choreographer Mr. Rueben Joseph, a fellow Trinidadian which assisted in preparing the girls for this special day.
As the night proceeded, LIVE performances was a great highlight and everyone looked forward to this ñ first was David Celestine, his style was a slow melody rapso and two songs he contributed to the night to which lead the way for SW Storm which came with a much hyped performance. Storm is no stranger to the artform; he entertained the audience with four selections, which were both past and present.
Special appearances by Ms. Natalie Johnson the reigning Miss Trinidad and Tobago UK titleholder, Ms. Alafair Celestine reigning Miss Carivog Model International as well as, Miss Commonwealth International gave a speech on there recent visit to Trinidad and their experiences. As well as, specially invited guest from Trinidad Ms.Dominique La Veau to which she recently won the Carivog International Super Ten Model International title last month in Trinidad, and 1st runner up Amrika Rampersad and Krista De Four Miss Trinidad and Tobago UK 2003 graced us with their presence on the night.
Past contestants- Julia Bernand, Patrice Roberts, Timisha Maloney, Melissa Braithwaite and committee member Sharlyn Ritchie made the night extremely special as they paraded in Carnival Costumes.
Throughout the evening Capital Life Photographer, Trinis in London photographer and BEN TV (whatís the hype program) covered the third annual pageant launch. Angela Cox director addressed the audience, thanked the sponsors, a special thanks went out to Bar 38, Claude & William of Angostura Royal Oak & Old Oak Rum,New Nation,Caribbean Times,2810 Design and Alafair Celestine a great support to her.(Alafair is now pr & marketing Director to the pageant)
The event ended on a great note as the audience looked forward to the finals, which would take place on 20th August 2005 at the Porchester Hall, Bayswater, London.
